Coaching SIG: Joint CBODN-ASTD SIG

Topic: The Stages of Leadership and Coaching

Although leaders can progress through a predictable series of developmental stages, many do not.  Each progressive stage broadens and deepens the leader’s ability to deal with complexity, change, conflict and problem solving.  Later stage leaders are better able to view the “big picture”, be strategic and architect permanent change.  As we continue into the 21st century with its ever accelerating pace of change and new layers of complexity, finding ways to move leaders to later stages of development becomes a business imperative.  Coaching can be a powerful tool in the evolution of leaders into later stages of development.  In this session we will briefly review the stages then focus primarily on how to coach the two most common stages of leadership.
Speaker: Pamela Potts
