OD Values For The Future Study

The OD Values for the Future Study Team are conducting a survey study to identify and gain initial consensus on OD values for the future.  This effort initiated during the 2nd OD Gathering of approximately 100 OD practitioners and researchers. We want to involve approximately 40-50 OD practitioners and researchers in this study from diverse geographic areas, ages, and professional associations.  Would you be willing to participate and to help us recruit participants for this study? The study will begin in mid-June.

We are looking for volunteers to participate in a 3-round survey study to identify organization development (OD) values for the future.  The idea for this study began during the 2nd OD Gathering (https://www.odgathering.com), attended by approximately 100 OD practitioners and researchers.  Given the fast-changing world, the purpose of this study is to work with a diverse group of OD practitioners and researchers, from around the world, to reach initial consensus on OD values for the future with labels, definitions, and behavioral indicators.  We will share the results of this study at the 3rd OD Gathering in December 2019 and disseminate them to the OD community at large for feedback.

The research team adopted the following perspectives in the design of this study.

•We are identifying values of the field of OD for the future.

•OD values should guide how we practice OD.

•OD values can distinguish OD from other practices.

If you are interested in having your voice involved in identifying and defining OD values for the future, please click on this link [https://pennstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9t4ym4ql27UJG7j] and complete the demographic survey.  We will randomly select 40-50 participants ensuring maximum diversity in terms of geographic location, professional identity, age, gender, etc.

Here is a tentative timeline of the study for all three Delphi survey rounds with approximate time required to complete each survey:

·        Round 1: June 15-June 30 (40-60 minutes)

·        Round 2: July 15-July 31 (20-30 minutes)

·        Round 3: August 15-August 31 (20-30 minutes)

If you have any questions, please reach out to Dr. Hyung Joon Yoon (huy114@psu.edu).

Also, if you know any colleagues who practice OD and can provide valuable input for this study, please feel free to invite them to the survey by forwarding this email to them.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

The OD Values for the Future Study Team
