Coaching CoP

Topic: How Our Hidden Narratives Influence our Choices as Coaches

Our coaching choices are filtered through our internal narratives. Our narratives reflect and reveal our identity, perspectives, biases and what we believe is “right.” And sometimes, our narratives influence our coaching in ways that prevent us from being present to the deep desires of the coachee. During this session, you’ll be presented with video vignettes of coachees and their issues. You’ll be invited to share in small groups the coaching choices you’d make with each coachee. Through a process of self-reflection and discussion, you’ll discover your own hidden narratives. When we are unaware of our narratives, they shape us and our coaching in ways we don’t know, can’t see and may not support our coachees. Join us on February 4th for this engaging and informative program!

Changes:  We are changing the way we run the Coaching Community of Practice.  Those who receive notice they are on the attendance list will pay $5.00 by Venmo to reserve their place.  We will send instructions regarding using Venmo when you receive notice you are on the attendance list.  We will not be offering refunds.  We ask that cancellations be at least 48 hours in advance so we can contact those on the waiting list and give them sufficient notice to attend.  If necessary, last minute cancellations are appreciated so we can do the appropriate room set-up.

In order to balance who attends we delay notifying those on the attendance list for up to a week to include those who have not attended recently.  We also encourage new members to attend.  We apologize if you do not get on the attendance list each month and hope you understand that we want to include more members, not only those who responded quickly.  We limit our sessions to 30 attendees as we sit in a circle to encourage full participation. From now on those who are 'no-shows' or last minute cancellations will  be placed on the waiting list for future meetings until we have openings.   RSVP only if you want to attend, no need to send 'regrets.'

Please let us know if you are a new member or have not attended the last three or more sessions.  We are very grateful for your interest and support.

We need a few volunteers to help set up the room.  Please let me know if you can assist us at 6:00.

You will receive notification within the next seven days about whether you are on the list to attend or on the waiting list.  Also, please include the phone number where you can be reached if we need to contact you the day of the meeting.  Be sure to check your email for any updates if the weather is challenging or for any other changes that evening.
