Presenter: Diego Borrero
Diego left his native Colombia in South America in 2001 to move to Paris and study political science and economics, and work in international development. France was an important place in his musical life and where he started playing professionally. While he was there he combined his passion for music with his passion for international development working for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Unesco and playing in multiple venues such as clubs, festivals and fund raising. He was influenced by music, lessons and friends from many cultures.
Five years later, he moved to DC to work on his passion: improving people's lives. There he worked for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and as a international development advisor for Governments. His musical passion grew in the US, influenced by the local east coast scene and discovering new sounds that have taylored his multiple music projects playing for several venues there.
At a difficult time when he was looking for a life purpose and questioning his role in this world Diego discovered a book that was to challenge him and change his life: The Art of Possibility by Benjamin and Rosamund Zander. In the week Diego discovered the book three magical things happened in his life, "I turned 30, I had a major professional enlightment and started living in Possibility. And, I learned I was going to be a father!"
Today Diego is a passionate economist working as a consultant providing technical assistance to improve policy-making in developing countries . He’s playing music in a variety of musical venues and will have his first solo album coming out soon. Be inspired and attend this session to learn and experience the “possibility exercises” that moved Diego to achieve his dreams!
