New OD Practitioners CoP

Topic: Building Your OD Reputation One Piece At a Time

Facilitators: Matt Minahan
As you start to chart your career, think about what people know about you and your work, what you want them to know about you and your work, and how to build your reputation as an OD practitioner.  We'll talk about strategies for specializing, getting known for something specific, opportunities to showcase your talents, ways to let the world know, and how social media can help and hinder.  Bring your ideas and questions;  we'll talk about alternatives and options, share stories and experiences, and send you home with some insights and alternatives to help you get established and build your reputation in the field.
Matt Minahan has more than 30 years’ experience in strategic planning, organization design and development, executive coaching, and leadership development.  His consulting practice focuses on organizations and leaders who are planning enterprise-wide change programs, including business strategy, values, mission, business process simplification, planning systems, new structures, communications, management practices, business process re-engineering, and monitoring and evaluation systems.
He works in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors, with senior executive teams who want to develop new business strategies, redesign their organizations to meet new business challenges, improve goal setting, communication and involvement strategies, management practices, personal style, use of time, priority setting, decision making, and the effective delivery and receipt of feedback.

He holds an adjunct faculty appointment in the School of Public Affairs at American University and is a visiting professor in several doctoral programs.  He is the 2015 chair of the Board of Trustees of the Organization Development Network.  He is also an active volunteer and former board member of NTL Institute, and a former board member of the Chesapeake Bay OD Network.  www.minahangroup.com
