Topic: Crafting a Partnership that Works

Facilitator:  Judy Vogel & David Glaser

Program:
This workshop is an opportunity for us, as a community of OD colleagues, to explore these ideas:
  • Explore own best experiences on teams and in partnership relationships -- and identify the key characteristics of success.
  • Realize that every partnership is a specialized team comprised of Me, You, and Us.
  • Consider teamwork as a verb – teaming/partnering, a continuous process of becoming.
  • Explore attitudes and behaviors that craft successful partnerships as well as those that derail the collaboration.
Bio:

David Glaser, MSABS and MSCRP and Judy Vogel, MLA have been OD consultants, both as internal consultants in several organizations and, since 1987, as principals of Vogel/Glaser & Associates, LLL located in Columbia, MD and Fort Lauderdale, FL. Specializing in organization studies, strategic planning and organization redesign and transition implementation, they have a particular interest in leadership, collaborative structures including teamwork and partnerships, and the cultures that support these ways of working. Their executive coaching services often focus on the challenges of creating and renewing collaborations.

Judy and David are part of the instructional team in the AU MSOD program and facilitators for Learning Community Time (LCT); and Judy is the Coordinator of LCT Facilitators. They have published many articles in the OD Practitioner, where Judy is also a member of the Editorial Review Board. They have been frequent presenters at the ODN Conferences on topics about consulting, partnering and women’s experiences in OD. David led a very popular workshop called “Herb Shepard Meets the Beatles” and has been active for many years with “Men in OD.” They have also presented frequently for CBODN and several other ODN Regionals.

As partners in their own company and as each other’s spouse, they have studied and written about the unique opportunities and the substantial challenges of crafting sustainable partnerships. This workshop will facilitate participants both exploring their own experiences and best practices and also considering David and Judy’s thinking about partnering.
