Appreciating what truly enables leadership growth and organizational change and the link between them.

Conscious Leadership is emerging as a paradigm for managing the complexity of change, innovation and diversity in today’s global workplace. Coaches know that any leadership technique is limited by the level of awareness of the user. Awareness is the fifth side of the leadership matrix (leader – led – culture - methodology – awareness). Below the surface of awareness is where the leader’s blind spots, projections and bias reside. Most leaders know they should be open to and even seek feedback. Conscious leaders know “the led” are always giving them feedback within the context of the organizational culture. They have the awareness needed to observe, interpret and adjust without taking it personally. They are sensitive to how their own beliefs will “construct” what they see. They can put themselves in the other’s shoes and self-observe from the place of “the balcony.” They mitigate their own coping mechanisms that block this capacity of seeing, reflecting, learning and adjusting. Conscious leaders they have to be the change they want to see in the organization. The dysfunctions that stifle communication and innovation are a reflection of the same dysfunctions within the leader. Seeing and owning that connection with courage enables the inner shift that involves heart and spirit as well as mind.   

By the close of this workshop you will:

1.     Understanding the new principles of Conscious Leadership (CL)

2.     Appreciating the relationship between leadership growth and organizational change

3.     Applying CL in team building, coaching and change management issues – especially those the audience may be dealing with 

More About Your Presenter:

For the past 22 years Harrison’s mission has been to help raise the performance of an organization to the next level. During that time his mission has taken him to 24 different countries to build teams, develop teamwork and leadership skills, empower employees, resolve conflicts, enhance strategic decision making and inspire change. He is the author of three books on management and team building, the most recent being Tools For Teams.  Harrison has been an active member of CBODN for nearly as long as he has been a consultant and has presented at numerous conferences and professional gatherings. He started his career in the field of outdoor team building and believes from experience that groups learn more when they get out of their chairs and interact standing up.
