Topic: Non-Violent Communication (NVC): A Framework for Navigating Conflict and Discovering Alignment
Description: It is hard to escape conflict, whether it is internally struggling with decisions or priorities, in interactions with others, or supporting others through conflict.
Conflict does not exist in a vacuum and is accompanied by beliefs, thoughts, and feelings. How we deal with them determines outcomes. Non-Violent Communication is a set of principles that allows us to go deeper and discover the stakes and possible solutions. It is used in all kinds of settings – in corporations, mediations, personal relationships, and prisons.
The framework is simple. The practice is hard. We will be sharing the NVC framework and offering some activities to help you acquire a taste of its potential.
We will:
- Explore the 4 components of the Non-Violent Communication (NVC) framework
- Practice differentiating feelings from thoughts and needs from strategies
- Practice deconstructing the complexity of a conflict (Bring a conflict, intra- or interpersonal, to work on.)
You will leave with:
- More questions and curiosity about NVC!
- A new way to think about win-win outcomes
- Skills to help navigate conflict
