Topic: From the Stage to the Organization: Applying Improv Principles as an OD Practitioner

Description:  Improv (Improvisational theater) is a form of theater in which the performance unfolds spontaneously, without a script. All the characters, story, and dialogue are created through the collaboration of all the performers in real-time. Improv is not completely unstructured, it is based on a series of principles that guide the action between the performers. These principles, when applied in our lives, or into an organization, can provide new opportunities that might have been hidden before.

During this session, participants will learn how some of the improv guiding principles can be inter-changeable as OD principles such as:

  • Co-creating reality
  • Active listening
  • Mindfulness
  • The power of agreement
  • Re-framing
  • Trust and risk-taking

This virtual & interactive conversation will last 75 minutes, and it is intended to provide participants with a clear idea of the guiding principles, as well as opportunities to apply them on a personal level and in the organizations we interact with.
