The Science of Exclusion

The Science of Exclusion focuses on how our brain responds to physical and social injuries.  Research shows that survival depends on our collective abilities, not our minds.  We are connected across our lifespan through myriad invincible forces that like gravity, are ubiquitous and powerful.

Four basic human needs are threatened by exclusion, 1) the need to belong, 2) the sense of control, 3) meaningful existence, and 4) self-esteem.  The Science of Exclusion examines when and why we help others if there is a natural bias against individuals who are perceived as different.

In this session you will learn how The Science of Exclusion takes on objective, blame-free look at how we develop a strong culture of health, civility, and well-being across workforces.  Knowing that can encourage your clients to commit to take action to ensure belonging.  The takeaway is for us to learn that if we don’t intentionally and proactively include, we will unintentionally exclude.
