Book Club

Treat yourself to a good book and thought-provoking discussion this Spring and Summer! After launching a CBODN Summer Book Club in 2023, we are thrilled to return this year and join members and guests in an hour of facilitated discussion. Our time together will center around the themes presented in each selected book that matter to you as an OD practitioner. This monthly gathering is geared towards members and guests interested in a peer-supported & enhanced reading experience that offers new perspectives and personal development. Join us as we connect with fellow OD practitioners in a positive, supportive environment while promoting a love for reading and continuous learning.

This Book Club also offers a great opportunity for members who are looking to practice or improve their facilitation skills, by co-facilitating alongside our recurring CBODN host. If you are interested in helping to facilitate a session and/or have a book selection suggestion, please reach out to Rachel Green (rachelbourgeoisgreen@gmail.com) for more information.

July Book Selection

On July 12th, we will be hosting a facilitated discussion of  Language and the Pursuit of Leadership Excellence by Chalmers Brothers & Vinay Kumar Drawing on conversations with thousands of CEO’s, business owners, and senior leaders of all types over the last 10 years, this book provides an eye-opening organizational blueprint, coupled with powerful, practical tools that leaders at all levels are employing to dramatically improve workplace relationships, shape culture and drive breakthrough results.  Brothers and Kumar introduce leaders to a startlingly powerful way of understanding language and conversations, as well as the “actual actions” of effective leaders and managers.

Don't have time to read the whole book? That's okay! You are encouraged to attend whether you've read the whole thing, a few chapters, or even just the back cover. During the session we will provide the opportunity for peers to share their recap from the book and for all to explore their insights and learnings more deeply.

For future Book Club suggestions, or to appear as a guest facilitator, please respond to our interest form.
