Change vs Transformation: What's the Difference? Why You Should Know.

"Transformation" is the new buzzword on LinkedIn profiles and consulting websites. But can you describe the differences between transformation and change and how to help clients successfully achieve both? 

OD professionals and change management consultants have a unique opportunity to recognize these nuances and position themselves as specialized experts to help guide companies through ambitious transformation journeys.

In this interactive workshop, participants will:

  • Articulate the differences between change, a transformation for clients and company projects.
  • Assess their transformation IQs and identify potential career development opportunities using the BTM2 heatmap.
  •  Use a repeatable transformation framework to define a holistic business and culture transformation vision.
  •  Apply the “Transformation Communication Principle” to craft messaging that encourages autonomy, urgency to act, and a sense of belonging.

Participants will receive infographic takeaways as a part of the presentation.

Matthew Smart is a certified Change Leader (ACMP, Prosci), Digital & AI Transformation Manager, Executive Coach, Agilist, Learning Designer & Trainer, and OD Consultant with 20+ years of experience designing and implementing innovative change strategies, engaging multimedia communications campaigns, coaching programs, and complex digital business transformation initiatives to move people and organizations forward. 

His philosophy is that while change is hard, whether an individual or organizational transition, it should be a rewarding and elevating experience. There are valleys and high points in everyone's journey. Matthew uses creative approaches to navigate them while minimizing the difficulties that come with making major changes and embarking on ambitious transformation journeys.
