The Human Element

More than 50 years ago, Will Schutz proposed that all human behavior and the corresponding feelings towards others can be categorized into Inclusion/Significance, Control/Competence and Openness/ Likeability and they are essential and adequate for understanding human interaction.

His theory states that our behavior and feelings towards others stem from the way we see and feel about ourselves; that the more self aware we become, the greater our self esteem.

Individuals, teams, and groups who undergo programs powered by the Human Element often experience profound and lasting positive and radical change, affecting their personal and professional lives.

For this session the Human Element will be described, how it is applied in organizations, what the Instruments of Measure are, and what information it gives to participants.

Presenter:  Marcia Forst
