April Book Selection

On April 11th, we will be hosting a facilitated discussion of Priya Parker’s The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters.  This CBODN Book Club favorite sets forth a human-centered approach to gathering that will help everyone create meaningful, memorable experiences, large and small, for work and for play.

Parker takes us inside events of all kinds to show what works, what doesn't, and why. She investigates a wide array of gatherings and explains how simple, specific changes can invigorate any group experience. Full of exciting ideas with real-world applications The Art of Gathering provides new perspective in the way you look at your next meeting, industry conference, dinner party, and backyard barbecue--and how you host and attend them.

Don't have time to read the whole book? That's okay! You are encouraged to attend whether you've read the whole thing, a few chapters, or even just the back cover. During the session we will provide the opportunity for peers to share their recap from the book and for all to explore their insights and learnings more deeply.

About Book Club

Treat yourself to a good book and thought-provoking discussion this Spring and Summer! We are thrilled to once again host an hour of facilitated discussion around your favorite Organizational Development books. Our time together will center around the themes presented in each selected book that matter to you as an OD practitioner.

This monthly gathering is geared towards members and guests interested in a peer-supported enhanced reading experience that offers new perspectives and personal development. Join us as we connect with fellow OD practitioners in a positive, supportive environment while promoting a love for reading and continuous learning!
