Topic: Successful Diversity and Inclusion Strategies for Federal Government Agencies

Facilitator: Susan Grunin

Dr. Grunin is the CEO of Think Strategic Consulting; a woman owned small business.  This firm specializes in strategic human capital consulting.  Their expertise focuses on instructional design, leadership development, executive coaching, diversity and inclusion planning, training and workforce planning, training and development both on-line and classroom curriculum development / delivery.  Susan serves on the faculty of the University of Virginia and the University of Maryland University College. Prior to Dr. Grunin’s current position, she had extensive experience in both the private and public sectors.  During the past year, Susan has chaired the Human Capital Shared Interest Group (HC SIG) of the American Council for Technology -Industry Advisory Council.  The goal of the HC SIG is to bring human capital management professionals from industry and government together to share research, best practices, future trends and improve overall organizational performance.

Program Description:
Successful organizations need effective diversity and inclusion strategies in order to thrive in today’s challenging workplace.  Without these strategies in place, organizations cannot recruit and retain the workers with the high level of competence required for today’s knowledge economy.  Our labor market, like our world is becoming increasingly more diverse.  Consider these facts: By 2042, there will be no single majority demographic; people of color will comprise more than 50% of the U.S. population and the majority of new entrants into the labor market will be from diverse backgrounds.

As organization development practitioners we have both a responsibility and a normative commitment to diversity and inclusion in the federal workforce.  This webinar will provide state of the art information from recent research on the best practices in both the government and private sector along with definitive information on emerging trends that we will continue to see going into the future.  Special attention will be given to implementation of polices and key factors that have been successful for organization D & I strategies.  If you would like to see your organization improve its diversity and inclusion outcomes. This is a session you won’t want to miss!
