Richmond Organizational Development SIG

"HR courage and perseverance in the face of organization change"

Facilitator: Ruston (Rush) Rau

R. Rushton (Rush) Paul, Jr., J.D., SPHR, is a past practicing lawyer who migrated to creating business solutions and leading human resources at companies like Jefferson National Bank, Wachovia and McGuireWoods. Today, Rush brings over 30 years of experience to his work with small- and mid-sized companies as their outsourced fractional HR Director through his consulting firm R. Rushton Paul Consulting. See www.RRushtonPaul.com.

This will be conversation focused around three case studies that present opportunities/challenges around “speaking truth to power,” challenging executives to understand unintended impact and consequences, and meeting commitments to values in the face of potential adverse financial impact. The case studies will come from actual situations experienced by HR in a large corporate environment. The dialog will focus on HR’s role, alternate strategies and risks.
